From camp Cottonwood, Up there is Jerome, AZ remnants of copper mining turned tourist town. Very popular. Visit early. Parking is limited. And that is why when I pulled over on a one lane road to permit an opposing car passing room I took a lesson from a very stern woman about I could not park there. The assumption that I was parking rather than kindness of yielding right of way tells parking is a premium.

Approaching Jerome near 5000 feet

Looking north across Verde Valley

Jerome, no shortage of steps for any town built on a mountain side
