Self Entertainment

I started with a little battery maintainer. No l-e-d light to determine if it is working.

Battery is dead.

Changed to this configuration. One direction diode. Plus self reset breaker. Direct charge. That should do it. Oh contraries. Overly hot. Dead battery.

I engage an RV repair garage in Del Rio to examine my battery wiring. They concluded the diode served no purpose plus the charging wire was to small diameter.

Now upon arrival, Cottonwood Dead Horse Ranch. Car will not start. Nada. No lights. No bells. So says i to myself I shall shift from neutral to park. Maybe that will work. Nope. Now I have diarrhea on me-self. I can not tow unless in Neutral and it ain't in neutral no more. Must be started to shift to neutral. And it wont start. The entertainment has begun. With the car blocking one-third of the camping site entry and going no where I made the brilliant decision to unhook and back into the camp site. That would clear the camp road for other visitors.

If only I had seen that tree!

Eventually with an eight inch tree limb laid to rest I placed the motor-home in the slot and hooked to electric.

A kind neighbor jumped his truck battery to my tow car with no start. He then loaned me an electrical cord. With charger on 50 amp I checked for whistles and bells and had none. The charger then went dead.

Finally a light bulb moment. A mechanic years pass told me if I was in terrain that called for 4 wheel drive and my dash stated the four wheel drive was not available not to worry. He said, get a can of coke, remove the negative battery cable, and when the soda was gone replace the cable. With that in mind I removed the negative cable, had a soda, reattached and started my car.

Moral of the story is always have soda nearby.

I don't like driving a computer!!!!!!!!!!
